Position Summary:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is hiring an Academic Specialist in General Obstetrics and Gynecology to be a clinical faculty member and dually employed by the University of Wisconsin, School of Medicine and Public Health and UW Health. We are the largest, most diverse team of general ObGyn providers in the community, performing greater than 2,500 deliveries annually. We are looking for a physician who has an interest in resident and medical student education. In addition, experience and interest in research and/or mentoring and faculty development to help nurture the growing academic interests of the ASOG faculty is an important aspect of this position.

Principal Duties:

Participation in patient care, academic and service needs will be tailored to fit the needs of the department, division and individual and based on the knowledge, experience and skill of the candidate.

Primary duties of the position include a clinical practice in the diagnosis and treatment of normal obstetrics and gynecology and disorders related to the female reproductive system.

Specific responsibilities of this position include inpatient and outpatient case management, gynecological surgery, labor and delivery coverage, and participation in teaching activities. This position will teach medical students, interns, and residents.

Development and participation in research is encouraged and protected time will be considered on an individual basis.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.
