Virginia Commonwealth University’s School Education Partnership for People with Disabilities is a long standing grant-funded organization celebrating 35 years at VCU . We employ approximately 100 employees, and are located downtown near the MCV campus. Our mission is to “To partner with people with disabilities and others to build communities where all people can live, learn, work and play together.” The Partnership is recognized as Virginia’s University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities ( UCEDD ) by the US Department of Health and Human Services, and is charged with conducting interdisciplinary pre-service and community training, continuing education, direct service, research and evaluation, policy, and dissemination.
The Partnership is recruiting a pool of adjunct faculty for 2020-2021 academic year course sections within the Department of Counseling and Special Education in the Partnership for People with Disabilities. This pool will be utilized on an as needed basis.
Applications will remain active for a year; and may be resubmitted for subsequent years. Those selected for an interview will be contacted.
Position duties include:
1) Meet all designated course instruction guidelines.
2) Grade assignments and exams in a timely manner based on instructions/rubric provided.
3) Respond to student inquiries within 24 hours.
4) Submit final grades according to School policy.
Master’s Degree or licensure, certifications and/or professional experience required in
the content area.
Doctorate in content area and previous higher education teaching experience preferred.
