THE COLLEGE:  California State University East Bay (CSUEB) is located in the heart of the San Francisco Bay Area, near San Francisco, Oakland, and San Jose, the anchor to the Silicon Valley. The university has two scenic campuses, one in the Hayward Hills overlooking the San Francisco Bay, and another in Concord in the foothills of Mt. Diablo. The College of Business and Economics (CBE) also offers classes online and in Oakland and San Ramon. CBE offers 6 degree programs (BS in Business Administration, MBA, BA and MA in Economics, MS in Accountancy, and MS in Business Analytics) spanning 4 departments: Accounting and Finance, Economics, Management, and Marketing. The College’s distinguished faculty is a multinational, multicultural, diverse group providing a wealth of global experiences and expertise in various fields. The College has been AACSB accredited since 1973. 

THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE serves BSBA program with concentrations in accounting or finance, MS in Accountancy program, and MBA program.  The department has over 260 on ground and 50 online BSBA accounting concentration students and graduates 30 MSA students each year.  It also has over 150 on ground and 100 online BSBA finance concentration and over 30 MBA finance concentration students.   

DUTIES OF THE POSITION:  To teach undergraduate and/or graduate accounting, accounting analytics, auditing, or taxation courses, conduct academic research in different areas of accounting, and provide service to the University. Please note that teaching assignments at California State University, East Bay include courses at the Hayward, Concord and Online campuses. Research responsibilities include engaging in related research and scholarly activities. In addition to teaching, all faculty have advising responsibilities, assist the department with administrative and/or committee work, and are expected to assume campus-wide committee responsibilities.

RANK AND SALARY:  Assistant or Associate Professor. Salary is dependent upon educational preparation and experience.  Subject to budgetary authorization.

DATE OF APPOINTMENT:  Fall Semester, 2021.

Qualifications

Required: (1) an earned Ph.D. in Accounting or related field from an AACSB accredited institution no later than the effective date of the appointment with specialized preparation in one or more of the following areas: accounting, auditing, and taxation; or MS/MA in Taxation or JD/LLM (Taxation) and BA/BS/MA/MS in Accounting with high-level professional tax experience; (2) demonstrate a record of scholarly activity; (3) meet CSU East Bay, College of Business and Economics AACSB faculty qualification standards for Scholarly Academics (SA) (available online); (4) possess strong communication skills; and (5) demonstrate experience in teaching, mentoring, research, or community service that has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to diversity and excellence.
