GENERAL SUMMARY

The Clinical Site Development Representativeworks directly with Clinical Education Staff and Faculty to identify, selectand secure new contractual clinical affiliate sites for the assigned programoffering. This position is also responsible for maintaining relationships withexisting affiliated sites and for clinical regional recruitment efforts thatsupport the overall clinical education strategic plan for the University. Theprimary goal of this position is to acquire additional student clinicalplacement slots that meet student academic objectives as well as accreditationrequirements.

To be successful in thisposition, the individual will have a thorough understanding of the assignedUniversity academic programs, clinical placement requirements and programmaticaccreditation requirements as they relate to clinical rotations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identifies potential new clinical sites through marketing,attending association conferences, database research, faculty and student leads
  • Initiates contact with potential new sites for clinicalrotations for all assigned programs
  • Qualifies sites based on University needs and requirements,and accrediting body requirements
  • Builds and supports relationships with contractual sitesthrough regular communication
  • Communicates with and visits current and future sites as ameans to gain preferred status with the sites
  • Works with clinical education faculty and academic programleadership to help prioritize sites and may serve as a liaison between clinicalsites and clinical education department
  • Prepares, analyzes and submits reports to the departmenthead
  • Represents the University and department by providinginformation about the University to clinical sites, attendingconferences/seminars and through various forms of communication
  • Develops an action plan and travel itinerary for eachtrimester
  • Coordinates with marketing for any possible joint activities
  • Coordinates with other clinical site developmentrepresentatives to plan appropriate and strategic site recruitment efforts forall USAHS degree programs
  • Meets regularly with department head and academic programleader for assigned program to strategize and provide updates
  • May perform other duties and responsibilities as necessaryand assigned by department head and program leadership

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’sdegree required; preferred in healthcare
  • Two yearsof experience in business, marketing, sales, or healthcare
  • 1-3 yearsof external sales or clinical development experience with the assigned programoffering area and/or geographic region
  • Familiaritywith medical terminology
  • Highlevel of professionalism and strong communication, presentation and negotiationskills
  • Self-motivatedand ability to perform with minimal direct supervision
  • Stronginterpersonal skills including effective verbal and written communicationskills
  • Abilityto multi-task and stay well-organized with attention to detail
  • Abilityto work well under pressure and be eager to succeed in a competitive, resultsoriented environment
  • Abilityto work collaboratively as part of a team, and to interact effectively withcolleagues, administrators and faculty members and students, as well asexternal constituencies
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other databasemanagement systems
  • Valid driver’s license for State of residence and at leastminimum liability insurance required by State.


TRAVEL

Reliable transportation and ability to travel (50%) withinthe United States as necessary. Ability and willingness to work evening andweekends and to travel overnight

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is performed primarily in a standard office environment but may involveexposure to moderate noise levels. Work involves operation of personal computerequipment for six to eight hours daily and includes physical demands associatedwith a traditional office setting, e.g., walking, standing, communicating, andother physical functions as necessary.
