Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Financial Aid – Student Employment is responsible for overseeing Tarrant County College’s $2M Student Employment funding, which includes all Federal, State, and Institutional annual allocations. This position will oversee the reconciling of all funds for student employment including communicating with campus Career Services and Accounting. This position is a district office position that will report to the District Director of Student Financial Aid Services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Serves as point person for all Federal, State, and Institutional student employment funding
• Oversees district and campus student employment annual allocation assignments
• Responsible for all student payroll reconciliation with Accounting
• Completes Institutional, Federal, and State Student Employment Reporting Requirements for Federal FISAP and State Financial Aid Database.
• Monitors the funds for different student employment programs such as:
o Federal WS
o Federal Community WS
o Federal American Reads
o State WS – on-campus
o State WS – off campus
o Work Student Mentorship Program ( WSMP )
o TCC’s institutional student employment
• Responsible for annual institutional student employment budget requests including TCC’s matching requirements
• Will approve any off-campus contracts for student employment
• Work with campus Student Financial Aid Services ( SFAS ) representatives to monitor financial aid students’ eligibility
• Work with District SFAS to ensure that the needs of student employees in are met Colleague
• Conduct Student Employment funding presentations/professional development for students, faculty, staff, and community
• Make daily decisions on how to solve student issues and help Financial Aid Directors implement at the campus SFAS offices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
• Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College ( TCC )
• Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation and creativity and service to the College
• Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College

Required Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Five (5) years of experience in Financial Aid or Student Affairs

Desired Education, Experience, Certifications, Licensures

• Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university
• Experience in a large, multi-campus college environment
• Experience with Ellucian’s Colleague Management System
• Experience working with student employment
• Accounting/ payroll background

Knowledge, Skills and Ability

• Knowledge of Federal and State financial aid regulations
• Exceptional communication skills, including report writing and oral presentation
• Demonstrated strong accounting skills
• Demonstrated problem solving skills
