Department/College Description
The Management Department comprises the disciplines of management, entrepreneurship, international business, and supply chain management. The Department has a collegial and supportive culture, and faculty members often collaborate on research projects in areas such as creativity, innovation, technology management, corporate social responsibility, ethics, entrepreneurship, and international management. The Department has a strong commitment to high-quality research and teaching. Faculty members regularly publish in premier management and supply chain management (i.e. the SCM Journal List http://www.scmlist.com) journals such as the Academy of Management Review, Academy of Management Journal, Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics, Journal of Purchasing and Supply Management, Journal of Operations Management, and Management Science.

The RIT global campuses in Croatia, U.A.E. (Dubai), and China are also offering degree programs in management, international business, and entrepreneurship. The nationally-known Simone Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship and the Institute for Business Ethics and Corporate Social Responsibility provide support for teaching, research, and student activities.

Detailed Job Description
The Management Department in the Saunders College of Business (SCB) invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track assistant professor position starting in August 2021. Candidates who are close to completing their doctoral degree in supply chain management, logistics, sourcing, purchasing and supply management, or related areas are encouraged to apply. Assistant professors with prior experience will be considered. Teaching load is 2/2 for pre-tenure faculty and includes teaching undergraduate and graduate courses in logistics, sourcing, buyer supplier relationships, supply chain analytics, lean six sigma, operations management, decision sciences, and other related areas. Strong research and teaching potential are expected.

Required Minimum Qualifications
  • PhD. or ABD in supply chain management, logistics, sourcing, purchasing and supply management, operations management, decision sciences or related areas from an AACSB or equivalently accredited university.
  • Potential to publish high-quality scholarship.
  • Potential to teach undergraduate- and graduate-level courses in logistics, sourcing, buyer/supplier relationships, supply chain analytics, operations management, decision sciences or related areas.
  • Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the College’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences.
