Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) Newark, a partnership between Bard College and the Newark Public Schools in Newark, NJ, invites applications for a full-time temporary faculty position in Chinese, beginning September 1, 2020 through November 25, 2020.  This is a family leave position.  The applicant will teach 2 high school Chinese sections as well as 2 College Intermediate Chinese sections. 

BHSEC, a national model of public school reform, enables talented and highly motivated students to complete a high school diploma and an Associate of Arts degree from Bard College within four years of study. The academic program emphasizes small classes and a commitment to teaching a diverse student body.

The successful applicant for this position must be committed to teaching classes at both the high school and college levels. In addition, candidates will have the opportunity to participate fully in the life of the school, including student advising and club advising.  MA required, PhD preferred; high school teaching experience and/or experience working with youth desirable.  Work authorization in the United States is required for all BHSEC Newark faculty positions.  We cannot sponsor any work visas for this position.
