Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for a On-Call Event Assistant.

The candidate would be expected to provide support for concert, theatre, dance and other arts events which includes: monitoring load in and load out of shows; setting up and monitoring backstage hospitality, backstage areas/dressing rooms; assisting with artists needs and requests; Providing wardrobe assistance for artists; monitoring all theatre, back stage, and lobby activity from load-in to load-out of shows; Limiting access to VIP Room and stage areas to authorized persons; and enforce all house policies during events - no food/drink in theatre, camera policies, etc. Help supervising ushers, ticket takers, merchandisers, and volunteer staff. Interact with technical crews, road crews, and venue administration to ensure smooth running operations.

Other Requirements:
Familiarity with coordination of arts programming.


Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of venue operations. Experience working with technical crews, tour and road managers, technical directors, stage managers, artists, and venue administration, and an understanding of how all these positions interact/relate.

Knowledge of and access to industry resources for trouble shooting unexpected needs. Front of house management.
Supervisory skills/venue staff. Understanding of merchandising. Familiarity with box office operations/will call, comps, and patron relations.
