Tenure-Track Assistant Professor position
We seek a dynamic and high-energy person to be a faculty member of
the School of Social Work in Dominican University’s College of
Applied Social Sciences starting August 2021. The School offers a
CSWE-accredited Master of Social Work and maintains a distinctive
presence in Chicago and surrounding areas. With 10 full-time staff
and faculty and a group of experienced and committed part-time
faculty, the School is well-positioned to meet the needs of the
social work profession and provide access to the profession for
students from underrepresented communities in a highly
inter-professional and inter-disciplinary setting. An expanded

Required
Qualifications:
-
Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program
- PhD
in Social Work or related field (ABD is acceptable with the
completion by May 2022)

Practice, research, and/or policy experience with diverse
populations and communities
-
Teaching experience (online, hybrid, and in-person)
Preferred
Qualifications:
- One
or more areas of expertise: Health & Wellbeing, Community
Practice, Military or related areas
- Two
years post-MSW practice experience (clinical or
community-based)

Social work clinical license
-
Experience with federal and foundational grants
-
Bilingual in Spanish and English

Publication experience

Committed to working with first-generation, immigrant, and/or
underrepresented students and students of color
Primary
Responsibilities: The successful candidate is expected to
contribute to the school's overall social work curriculum, initiate
and publish research, teach three graduate level courses per
semester, advise and mentor MSW students, and serve on school,
college and University committees. There will be opportunities for
the candidate to participate in and/or leading grants, academic
affairs, and faculty development.

School: Dominican University School is a private,
Catholic teaching institution with a CSWE-accredited Master of
Social Work (MSW) program whose mission is centered on truth,
compassion, empowerment, and social justice. The School of Social
Work prepares professional social workers for globally focused,
family-centered practice through rigorous education, practice,
research, and service. We offer our program at our main campus in
River Forest, IL, at the University Center of Lake County in
Grayslake, IL, and online. The School has a strong commitment to

2021, we will have advanced generalist concentrations with focus in
the areas of military, gerontology, child welfare, health &
wellbeing, school social work, and global social work for
immigrants and refugees. We offer dual degrees with the Brennan

Master of Arts in Conflict Resolution program. We have received two
substantial federal grants to support students from underserved
communities.
