Post Doctoral Fellow

The Fay W. Boozman College of Public Health (COPH) at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences has a post-doctoral position available in the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education.  The COPH is accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health and offers a variety of degrees including Master of Public Health, a Doctor of Public Health in Public Health Leadership and a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Promotion and Prevention Research.

The successful candidate will have demonstrated knowledge and skills in a combination of the following areas: criminal justice related research; behavioral health; sexual and gender minority health; community engaged research.

Candidates must have an earned doctorate (PhD, DrPH, or equivalent) in a public health area related to a behavioral or social science discipline.  Applicants should have a research interest in criminal justice related research.  Candidates with interests in sexual/gender health, health disparities/inequities and community engagement will be prioritized.   

The major responsibilities include conceptualizing research questions, analyzing data, preparing manuscripts suitable for publication in leading journals, collaborating with Principal Investigators, research staff and community partners in preparing proposals for external funding and responding to RFPs. Successful candidate will lead and/or work closely with interdisciplinary staff/faculty/and student research teams in all aspect of research. This position is a two-year appointment.
