Florida International University seeks a full-time Director of the School of Accounting at the tenured, full Professor faculty rank on a 12-month appointment. The position has an expected start in fall of 2021, or earlier. Preference will be given to applicants with prior administrative experience at the department and college levels as well as fund-raising and advancement experience. Candidates must have an earned doctorate in accounting, and the college prefers candidates with a record of excellence in teaching and research consummate with the rank of full Professor at a Carnegie Highest Research Activity, Doctoral University (R1). The research activities should include prior accounting publications in Financial Times Top 50 Research and UT Dallas Top 100 Business School Research Ranking journals as well as ranked A*/A journals on the ABDC rankings list.

The School of Accounting at FIU holds its own separate accreditation by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The school houses both accounting and business law Faculty. The school offers some of the most innovative academic programs in the country leading to Bachelor of Accounting (BAcc), Master of Accounting (MAcc), and Ph.D. in Accounting degrees. The School consistently ranks within the top 50 institutions worldwide on BYU’s Accounting Rankings. The School of Accounting maintains its own Advisory Board and has attracted significant external funding to support a variety of scholarships helping students complete their education and prepare for careers, including the Ernst & Young Scholars Program.
