Post-Doctoral Fellow

Applications are invited for a full-time Post-Doctoral Fellow position in the Laboratory for Stem Cell & Cancer Biology, Institute of Human Virology, University of Maryland School of Medicine to join an active research group unraveling the molecular mechanisms that govern self-renewal and differentiation of Hematopoietic Stem Cells (HSCs). Successful candidates will work in a highly collaborative multi-project environment with the goal of understanding cell intrinsic and extrinsic regulation of hematopoiesis. The current position requires a driven, motivated and enthusiastic individual.

Qualifications :

We are seeking highly motivated and collaborative individuals with PhD or MD/PhD capable of independent reasoning and excited about learning new technologies. The candidates should have excellent writing and communication skills and familiar with techniques such as multi color flow cytometry, cell isolation from solid organs, in-vitro culture of HSCs, Bone Marrow Transplantation, Western Blotting, Confocal Microscopy, ELISA, RT-PCR and animal handling. Applicants should have prior experience in working with HSCs or hematology related areas and should have at least one or two HSC/hematology related published articles.
