Teach one or more of the following Massage Therapy modality courses:

MAS 116: Clinical Skills and Special Populations
MAS 119: Introduction to Massage Therapy
MAS 131: Massage Therapy I: Swedish
MAS 132: Massage Therapy II: Integrative
MAS 233: Massage Therapy III : Rehabilitative
MAS 234: Massage Therapy IV: Advanced Techniques
MAS 235: Therapeutic Massage Clinic

The courses must be taught in accordance with current program approved course descriptions, course outlines, textbooks, and syllabi. Prepare lecture and lesson plans, teach lecture and/or lab portion of class, and respond to and grade student work. Use appropriate academic software (e.g. Canvas Course Management system, Power Point, etc.)

Required Qualification

Baccalaureate degree in massage therapy, a preventive health, wellness, exercise science discipline or other relevant field from an accredited institution with one year tested experience;
OR
Baccalaureate degree and 2 years of tested experience;
OR
Associate degree and 2 years of tested experience.

Must have a current Illinois Massage Therapy license OR a certification or license in modality being taught.

Ability to work effectively and constructively with persons of diverse cultures, gender identities, language groups, and abilities; demonstrate sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, including those with disabilities; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.

Competency in technologies commonly used in college level instruction.

Previous college teaching experience.

This posting will be used to obtain a pool of qualified candidates. As teaching needs arise, applications will be reviewed for possible interviews. The number of adjunct faculty hired varies from semester to semester, depending upon the needs of the department. Adjunct faculty hires and assignments are coordinated by the department chairs.
