Job Description

The School of Nursing at The University of Texas at Tyler invites applicants to apply for a full-time non-tenure-track, Clinical Assistant Professor in Nursing faculty position at a salary commensurate with experience to begin Fall 2020.  This is a 9-month academic appointment with an opportunity for a stipend if teaching in the off-semester. 


Essential Functions

Duties include, but are not limited to:


  • Primary teaching of hybrid nursing courses, conducting clinical experiences for FNP students on the Tyler campus.
  • Assisting other classroom faculty as needed.
  • Mentoring and advising students.
  • Participating in College and University service.


Required Qualifications

  • Earned Doctorate in Nursing.
  • Board certified family nurse practitioner.
  • Three (3) – Five (5) years teaching experience.
  • Eligible for licensure in Texas.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Online teaching experience.

Additional Information

The retirement plan for this position is Teacher Retirement System of Texas (TRS), subject to the position being at least 20 hours per week and at least 135 days in length. This position has the option to elect the Optional Retirement Program (ORP) instead of TRS, subject to the position being 40 hours per week and at least 135 days in length.
