Job Description

This is a shared position, as described below, to address the growing need for expertise in clinical research education on Virginia Tech’s Health Sciences campus. General responsibilities of the director would encompass engagement with the medical student research curriculum at VTCSOM (Virginia Tech, School of Medicine), coordination of educational efforts associated with the recently award CTSA (iTHRIV) and the associated KL2 Scholar program at Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC (Virginia Tech Carilion campus in Roanoke, VA), and clinical activities. This position allows for synergies to be leveraged for the benefit of the clinical research educational efforts associated with FBRI, the CTSA and the medical school research curriculum, while ensuring that the individual remains clinically engaged.

Required Qualifications

Practicing licensed MD
Experience and training in clinical research

Preferred Qualifications

PhD, MPH or MS (in addition to MD)
Experience in undergraduate medical education
Experience in academic medical center environment, preferably associated with a CTSA program
