The College of Science at Benedictine University invites applications for a full time, tenure-track assistant professor position in the Department of Biological Science beginning Fall 2021 to teach in both in the undergraduate and graduate programs. The department is seeking a candidate with teaching and research experience in human physiology, pharmacology, pathophysiology, or histopathology. Preference will be given to candidates with a molecular biological focus in their research program. The successful candidate will contribute to the undergraduate and graduate core curricula and establish an active faculty/student research program mentoring students.
The Department of Biological Sciences consists of 15 full time faculty members and houses graduate (Master’s) programs in Clinical Exercise Physiology and in Integrative Physiology; A third program in Molecular and Cellular Biology will commence in Fall 2021. In addition, the department houses three undergraduate biology programs: BS in Biology, BS in Health Science, and BA in Biology. There are over 50 graduate students and 500 undergraduate majors in the department with the majority of students seeking to pursue health professional degrees. Our current faculty have expertise in physiology, ecology, microbiology, neurobiology, molecular biology, genetics, biological anthropology, and paleobiology.

Required Qualifications:



Required Qualifications: Earned Ph.D. in a relevant area; a minimum of one year postdoctoral experience is preferred. Successful prior experience teaching and a strong commitment to involving undergraduates in research are required.
