Job Description:

The University of Saint Joseph School of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Studies, Department of Pharmacy Practice & Administration, is accepting applications for a calendar year, non-tenure or tenure track clinical faculty member in the area of adult general/internal medicine. The selected faculty member will engage in teaching, scholarship, and academic service activities while providing clinical pharmacy services in a hospital setting.

The School of Pharmacy and Physician Assistant Studies is located at 229 Trumbull Street in downtown Hartford, in a 53,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. It features classrooms and laboratories equipped with the latest technology, conducive to optimal learning.

Teaching responsibilities include: the development and delivery of didactic courses in areas of interest and expertise; provision of experiential rotations; training and liaising with site-based learners and preceptors; and contributing to the site-based professional development of healthcare team members. The faculty member is also expected to engage in collaborative scholarly activities in his/her area of expertise. The faculty member will provide leadership and enhance the quality of education and training at the School and University through curricular planning, programmatic assessment, and participation on committees. The faculty member is also expected to contribute to charitable educational activities that improve the health of our community.

 


Requirements:

Successful candidates will possess a high level of clinical expertise and competency, enthusiasm for teaching, experience with technology-supported teaching, and the interpersonal skills necessary for interacting with learners, faculty, patients, healthcare providers, and the public. Qualified applicants will possess a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for licensure in the State of Connecticut. Post-doctoral residency and/or fellowship training or equivalent experience is required. The search committee will continue to review completed applications until the position is filled.
