This position will represent Food Services on University campus and to the public. Will manage, hire, train, schedule, discipline, evaluate and terminate all temporary and student staff. Input payroll following union guidelines. Response to inquiries and complaints from students, staff and faculty. Maintain inventory and service needs.

Qualifications

• Supervise 20-30 union staff, 2 student managers, 8 student supervisors, and 100-150 student staff.

• Hire, train, schedule, discipline, evaluate, and terminate all temporary and student. Management staff.

• Arrange weekly staff meetings and training sessions, prepare agenda, organize and develop materials.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Associates degree in food service, or business management, and/or a combination of supervisory and food service experience equal to a minimum of 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Represent Food Services and its contacts to the University community, and the public. Rely on independent judgment to problem solve the day to day operations of the dining center and snack bar. Expected to interpret and apply University, Food Services, County, State, and Union policies.

• Maintain inventory, and service needs. Keep daily service records, input into computerized system, post invoices, order direct purchases. Maintain patron count sheet, daily cash report, and cash deposits. Monitor food cost.

• Input payroll following union guidelines. Monitor overtime in order to control labor cost. Planning, ordering, scheduling, set-up of special events and floor dinners.

• Respond to inquiries and complaints from students, staff, and faculty. Trouble shoots any employee problems, act as liaison between staff and upper management.
