The Dual Career Consultant and Talent Acquisition Manager will provide one-on-one consultative coaching, guidance, and assistance to accompanying partners and spouses of faculty hires at Syracuse University to help ensure a smooth transition for the relocating family. Meet with the accompanying partners and spouses to help understand career goals, identify potential employers, assist with employer introductions and follow-up, and advise on interview preparation. Develop strong relationships across the Central New York region with hiring authorities within higher education as well as other private and public sector employers. Measure, track, and report program analytics regularly to faculty chairs and HR leaders. Support recruitment searches within the Talent Management Team, as needed. This position reports to the Director of Talent Management within Human Resources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources, marketing, business, communications, or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and related experience.

• Demonstrated ability to use technology tools coupled with strong interpersonal skills are required.

• Knowledge of the Syracuse NY area employer market desired, but not required.

Job Specific Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience is required with two to four years of recruiting experience in Higher Ed, an employment agency, or a corporate environment preferred, not required.

• Experience utilizing social networking tools for recruiting purposes is desired, but not required.

• Excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work collaboratively.

• Proficient with MS Office Products and technology tools internet use, social media, and sourcing tools to contact potential employers for the accompanying partners and spouses of SU faculty hires.

• Ability to build influential relationships with faculty, accompanying partners and spouses of faculty members, hiring managers with employers in the Syracuse community, hiring managers within Syracuse University, and internal human resources team members.

• Ability to understand job requirements and align requirements with the credentials of accompanying partners and spouses.

• Be organized, detail-oriented, and self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and work in a deadline driven environment.

• Proven experience in capturing and reporting data and metrics

• Possess a strong sense of urgency as part of the daily work style.

• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team.

• Able to exercise good judgment and think creatively.

Responsibilities

• Provide dual career assistance to accompanying partners and spouses of faculty new hires including exploring career interests, reviewing the partner’s credentials, providing networking opportunities, helping to arrange and prepare for employer interviews, and supporting the partner’s job search activities via one-on-one face-to-face meetings, video meetings, and by telephone.

• Engage with internal hiring managers and work in a collaborative manner with the HR Talent Management team to identify possible job opportunities within Syracuse University for possible dual career consideration. Network with external employers to explore job opportunities for accompanying partners and spouses. Keep abreast of trends, technologies, and changes affecting regional employment opportunities. Represent SU at public events, such as job fairs and community outreach programs.

• Translate job search strategies into actionable activities using social media such as LinkedIn and Facebook. Use HR technology recruiting tools and knowledge about the recruiting process to assist accompanying partners and spouses.

• Partner with hiring managers to serve as a talent consultant to source, qualify, screen, interview, assess, offer and hire for open staff positions.

• Manage external vendor partnerships to ensure timely service delivery and EEO compliance related to faculty recruitment, including but not limited to obtaining quotes for external job advertisements.

• Oversee the posting and closing of faculty positions within PeopleAdmin and serve as the subject matter expert for faculty and part-time faculty job postings as a member of the HR Talent Management team.

• Maintain and distribute dual career program metrics to HR and Provost Office leadership. Communicate regularly with faculty chairs, HR and other key stakeholders. Provide coaching, guidance, and training to University colleagues involved in the hiring process for faculty positions and dual career support.
