Loyola University Chicago’s Parkinson School of Health Sciences and Public Health is an innovative new school committed to applying an entrepreneurial philosophy of educational excellence, research, and service as a means to achieve the goals of improving human potential through health sciences and the promotion of health equity. Faculty Positions within Department of Healthcare Administration:
Parkinson’s Department of Healthcare Administration invites applications for full-time, non-tenure track, 9-month positions beginning August 15, 2020. The successful candidate will have relevant academic and/or professional experience in healthcare administration and direct industry specific expertise.

An earned doctorate degree in healthcare administration or related field is required. Qualified applicants may have a relevant applied doctorate such as a DHA or DBA . Applied experience in a healthcare leadership or senior administrative position is strongly preferred. Prior teaching experience in higher education is strongly preferred.

We seek faculty with teaching and/or scholarly focus in one or more of these areas:
– Organization, financing and/or delivery of health services
– Health information management, health data analytics, and/or project management
– Health systems operations and/or healthcare compliance, law and risk management

The positions carry primary teaching responsibilities within Loyola University Chicago’s undergraduate and graduate Healthcare Administration programs. The traditional undergraduate program is located on the Lakeshore campus and the graduate program is online. Incumbents may also teach courses in related programs within the Parkinson School. Successful candidates will have a proven record of teaching excellence in multiple delivery formats, including classroom and online, as well as demonstrated commitment to working with and building strong relationships with students from diverse backgrounds.
Successful candidates will demonstrate ability to engage in research and scholarly endeavors consistent with rank; conduct service to School, University and Community; and develop working linkages with local and regional healthcare organizations and professional associations.

B.S. in Healthcare Administration: Established in 2006, the Healthcare Administration ( HCA ) program is comprised of the AUPHA Certified B.S. in HCA plus two accelerated degree programs leading to the B.S./ MBA or B.S./ MPH . A third accelerated option, the B.S/ MHA begins in Fall 2021. There are roughly 15 full-time and adjunct faculty engaged with nearly 200 majors and minors. The growing HCA program engages with over 75 different healthcare organizations in the greater Chicago landscape through internships, service-learning experiences and a vibrant industry advisory board. The program has strong interconnections throughout the university, contributing coursework to the B.S. in Public Health, the pre-health studies program, and the undergraduate population as a whole. The HCA program is physically located on the Lakeshore Campus.

Master’s in Healthcare Administration: The Master’s in Healthcare Administration ( MHA ) program is slated for a Fall 2021 launch. This newly developed online degree program addresses critical areas of need in healthcare delivery through three specialty tracks: Healthcare Business Intelligence, Safety Net Management, and Post-Acute Care Administration. The graduate program aims to prepare patient-centered, innovative leaders in improving healthcare access, quality and cost. Immersion weekends are a central feature of the online MHA and expose students to the Chicago healthcare market while building teamwork and leadership skills.
