Who We Are
Professors Victor Bright and Juliet Gopinath have been collaborating on adaptive optics research for well over a decade. Their research has applications in atomic physics, LIDAR, lasers, and linear and multiphoton microscopy. They manage a joint group that includes graduate, undergraduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and research scientists. Professor Juliet Gopinath has over 20 years of experience in photonics and has a broad range of interests from ultrafast and nonlinear optics, to coordinated optics, and adaptive optics. Her laboratory pursues a combination of modeling and experiments. Professor Victor Bright is a specialist in micro-electrical mechanical systems (MEMS).
Electrical, Computer and Energy Engineering at CU Boulder is the premier undergraduate and graduate program in Colorado by reputation, rankings, and size. Nationally, we are ranked 22nd among public electrical engineering graduate programs, and 21st among public computer engineering graduate programs by U.S. News and World Report.
Our number of required and elective undergraduate laboratory courses is among the highest of any engineering college in the country. Our students say the hands-on laboratory component greatly improves understanding of lecture concepts, and industry recruiters confirm that the value of our graduates is definitely increased by their laboratory experiences.
