West Virginia University Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute and the Department of Behavioral Medicine and Psychiatry in the WVU School of Medicine seek a Clinical Health Psychologist qualified for appointment at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor rank. The successful candidate will practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the area of Clinical Health Psychology. The successful candidate will have a background in inter-relationships among behavioral, emotional, cognitive, social, and biological components in health and disease to the promotion and maintenance of health; the prevention, treatment, and rehabilitation of illness and disability; and the improvement of the health care system. The position will include clinical, teaching/ supervision, and research responsibilities. Regarding clinical duties, clinical opportunities may include: Bariatric Surgery (i.e., conducting pre-Surgical bariatric psychological evaluations and treatment to patients pre and post-operatively); Pain Management (e.g., evaluations for candidacy for opioids or implantable devices, treatment within integrated pain center); Pre-surgical Evaluation (i.e., provision of pre-surgical evaluations for medical procedures and adherence to medical treatment across the medical system); Evidence-based Treatment for individuals with complex comorbid psychiatric, psychosocial, and chronic health conditions, as well as health promotion and disease management.

In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. The candidate will be involved in our well-known, training-focused APA-accredited clinical psychology internship in our Behavioral Medicine Track, and our Clinical Health Psychology-Bariatric Fellowship. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, it is expected that candidates sustain an outstanding, extramurally supported research program.

Qualifications: Applicants must have a PhD or PsyD in clinical psychology from an APA/CPA-accredited graduate program with an APA/CPA-approved internship and be immediately eligible for licensure in West Virginia. For appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank, Board Certification (ABPP) as well as a demonstrated track-record of leadership, clinical and teaching excellence and scholarly activity are required. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Additionally, faculty frequently collaborate with other medical school departments.
