Assistant/Associate Professor - Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine
PCOM South Georgia


PCOM South Georgia is seeking a full-time faculty member to teach osteopathic medical students in both lecture and laboratory sessions.

Faculty members will develop meaningful relationships with students for academic, career, and personal advising. All faculty members contribute to the department and college through active participation on committees and other activities of the institution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Evaluate and administrate OMM curriculum for medical students.
  • Evaluate student progress in learning appropriate medical knowledge. Communicate these evaluations to the students and administrative/faculty members as appropriate.
  • Serve in leadership and membership capacities on college and faculty committees.
  • Collaborate with faculty by reviewing test questions, volunteering for club activities and committee activities.
  • Actively pursue scientific research or other scholarly activity in one or more areas of scientific study.
  • Participate in professional and scientific meetings to further individual knowledge and to contribute to the development of other professionals.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to other professionals at and during local/regional/national professional and scientific meetings.
  • Assume responsibilities as assigned which may include site visits, faculty development, course evaluation, and direction of junior faculty or clinicians.
  • Maintain active licenses and board certification.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Position Requirements
*Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. and pass a criminal background check. Education
  • DO degree, board eligibility or board certification in osteopathic neuromusculoskeletal medicine and osteopathic manipulative medicine, or its equivalent.
Experience
  • Teaching osteopathic manipulative medicine in lecture, lab and small group settings.
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations
  • Must be licensed or eligible for license in the State of Georgia.
  • Preference may be given to applications with an ABPTS certification or residency/fellowship experience.
