JOB DESCRIPTION

The BUILD (Baccalaureate for University of Indianapolis Learning Disabled) department at the University of Indianapolis is seeking applicants for BUILD Tutors. The BUILD Tutor provides academic support to University students with learning disabilities. This is a part-time, hourly, temporary position with no benefits.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide structured, scheduled tutoring sessions to students
  • Monitor, read, and scribe assigned exams
  • Prepare weekly tutoring reports, absence reports, and semester student evaluations
  • Communicate weekly with Director on student progress or concerns
  • Attend staff meetings and special events of program
  • Increase knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities and academic strategies to better support students


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience working with college-aged students with learning disabilities is preferred
  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Strong written and communication skills are required
  • Good organizational skills are required
