Position Summary:

We are recruiting a Pulmonary/Critical Care BE/BC Physician with demonstrated clinical and leadership skills to lead a World-class critical care service at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, and serve on the faculty of the Department of Medicine at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. Physicians with strong research interest would have the support to establish a research program in health services research or lung injury/inflammation and remodeling.

Principal Duties:

The successful candidate will provide leadership and coordination for the Critical Care Services in our division, serve as Medical Director of the Critical Care Service, collaborate with leaders of the Neurological and Surgical ICU services, and serve on the Critical Care and Respiratory Care Committees.

The successful candidate will participate in the Division's clinical, research and teaching missions.

The successful candidate will also participate in professional, public, and university service.

Degree and Area of Specialization:

MD or DO required; Board certified or prepared in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine required.

Minimum Years and Type of Relevant Work Experience:

Has completed an accredited Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship Training program, and possesses strong clinical background in the treatment of critically ill patients. Strongly prefer minimum of five years experience beyond completion of fellowship. Experience with/interest in Clinical/Laboratory Research. Has demonstrated leadership skills and ability to collaborate with others.

Rank will depend on candidate's interest and academic credentials. The candidate must have the credentials that meet the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health criteria for promotion or appointment on the CHS track.
