Job Description:

Position Summary :

MassBay Community College seeks qualified part time instructors for the current and future semesters. The Medical Office Administrative Assistant faculty teaches MO 101: Medical Office Procedures I. Our adjunct instructors have obtained appropriate certification and have earned appropriate education in the field of study. The Medical Office instructor must be proficient in medical office computer applications, medical transcription, patient scheduling, medical legal documentation, patient information databases and computerized billing. The instructor must communicate effectively, assess students objectively, demonstrate proficiency in using electronic learning platforms to facilitate student learning and work as part of a team.

Available Course :

MO 101 (5 credits), Fall 2018, September 4 - December 21, 2018, Wednesdays 6:00pm - 10:25pm. Framingham Campus.

Key Responsibilities and Duties :

  • Prepare syllabi;
  • Provide instruction in MO 101 course to students;
  • Collaborate with program instructors/Dean of Health Sciences concerning students' academic progress and needs;
  • Assess student learning for end of course outcomes;
  • Maintain appropriate paperwork and documentation required by the program;
  • Use technology effectively to communicate with students and colleagues and to enhance learning in and out of the classroom, as appropriate;
  • Submit all course related rosters, grade reports by College deadlines;
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by the Dean consistent with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.



Requirements:

Education : Associates Degree required.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • Associate's Degree in related field;
  • Minimum 5 years' work experience as a Manager or Supervisor in Medical Office Administrative environment.


Preferred Qualifications :

  • Adult teaching experience preferred



Additional Information:

Salary Range : $1,066.00-$1,288.00 per credit; Adjunct faculty compensation levels in accordance

with qualifications and experience and subject to the collective bargaining agreement.

Classification : Classification Designation

Source of Funding : State Appropriation, Grant-Funded, Local Trust
