SUMMARY: This three year residency program consists of additional training in the diagnosis and management of athletes in interdisciplinary settings. The Residency fulfills the requirements to sit for the Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician (CCSP) and American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians exams. Initial training in emergency procedures will be followed by rotations through various sports medicine sites, including local universities from NAIA to Division I NCAA programs through youth athletics and community outreach events. The resident will also be able to expand their clinical skills in working with special populations. Scholarship, including publication and conference presentation will be an expectation. The provision of clinical care and the teaching and supervision of chiropractic interns will also be expected, as defined by the University. Training in musculoskeletal diagnostic ultrasound will be a feature of the residency.


  1. Responsible for all aspects of patient care in a clinical teaching environment.
  2. Provide emergency coverage after hours and on weekends.
  3. Represent Logan University at any and all assigned rotations and sporting events.
  4. Provide sideline coverage and manage patients with both emergent and non-emergent conditions.
  5. Attend and participate in department and campus meetings
  6. Work in a collaborative clinical and academic environment in a professional manner.
  7. Generate and submit two projects for publication and presentation at professional conferences.
  8. Attend courses and seminars as assigned by the Director of Resident and Fellow Education.
  9. Prepare for the CCSP and ACBSP certification examinations.
  10. Maintain licenses and certifications necessary for the practice of Chiropractic in the state of Missouri.
  11. Promote and practice the University mission, vision, and values.
  12. All other duties, as assigned by the Director of Resident and Fellow Education.

Must be able to interact in a professional manner with University affiliates, vendors, or other external relationships. Must possess analytical and problem-solving skills, the ability to assess their own strengths and weaknesses, and demonstrate attention to detail. Must be able to make decisions under pressure and in an evidence-informed manner. Must have good project management skills and be able to complete projects on time, within budget, and within deadlines.

  • Graduate of an accredited Doctor of Chiropractic degree program with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Basic math skills required. Ability to define problems, collect data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations :

  • License to practice (or eligible for licensure) in the state of Missouri.
  • Basic Life Support certificate for a health-care provider.

Salary: Year 1: $40,000; Year 2: $42,500; Year 3: $45,000

Computer Skills : To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general knowledge of computers including word processing and spreadsheets.

The employee must occasionally lift objects weighing from 10 – 30 pounds and possibly up to 50 pounds. Close vision needed to use computer. Must have distance vision and depth perception for safety purposes.
