General Description of Position

The Front of House/Dining Adjunct Instructor is responsible for providing instruction on campus in a classroom/laboratory, online, or at other College locations. Teaching assignments may include, but are not limited to Meal Service lecture and lab, Beverage Selection and Management, Food Cost Control, Menu Development and Design, Cooperative Experience as well as any course offered in the Food Service/Hospitality program. The instructor develops course objectives, implements teaching strategies, advises students, monitors and evaluates student progress and keeps accurate student records.

Minimum Qualifications

1. Associate of Applied Science Degree in in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts or related area of study.
2. Completion of a Bachelor’s degree within four (4) years of hire date.
3.Three (3) years recent work experience in management of front of house or bar and beverage operations
4. Must possess or be able to obtain Food Protection Managers Permit by date of hire.

Desired Qualifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Restaurant Management, Culinary Arts, or related area.
2. Certified Sommelier or Cicerone
3. Five (5) years recent work experience in management of front of the house or bar and beverage operations.
4. Online and/or classroom teaching experience.
5. Experience as a General Manager of a restaurant, dining club, country club, hotel, or other full service foodservice operation.
