Position Summary

The Department of Clinical and Administrative Pharmacy is seeking an outstanding candidate to join our faculty to provide instruction and course coordination in the Doctor of Pharmacy Program (Pharm.D.). The position is a temporary fulltime non-tenure track appointment at the rank of Instructor. The starting date is August 1, 2020. Salary is competitive and dependent upon qualifications.

Position Description: The primary responsibility for this position is to teaching and help deliver the professional Pharm.D. Program on the Athens campus. The Pharm.D. Degree program comprises four years of professional instruction, didactic and small group classes, laboratory-based teaching, and an experiential education component. The third year of the program is deliver synchronously across four campuses. This position will be responsible for teaching, delivering, and coordinate teach team-taught courses. For those with a clinical practice there will be an opportunity to precept advanced pharmacy practice experiential students on clinical rotations.

Additional Requirements

Applicants must hold a PHARMD, MD or PhD degree in the health sciences

Relevant/Preferred Education, Experience, Licensure, and/or Certification

Minimum of one year teaching experience.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies

Evidence of scholarship of teaching and learning and Board certification in pharmacotherapy or subspecialties are preferred. Preference will be given to candidates with strong communication skills and the potential for excellence in teaching.

Teach didactic course topics (Self-Care & Nonprescription Drugs, Survey of Drug Information, Phamacotherapy, Advanced Drug Information/Policy Management, Statistical Approached to Drug Literature Evaluation) and Skills/Laboratory based classes (Essentials of Pharmacy Practice, Applied Pharmacy Practice, Interpreting Clinical Lab Tests).
