Part-time Faculty to design and develop and/or instruct courses for the Bachelor of Professional Studies Knowledge Management Major.

Program Description:
The Bachelor of Professional Studies major in Knowledge Management represents the intersection of data science, computer science and people. Knowledge management encompasses the process of applying a systematic approach to the capture, structuring, management, and dissemination of knowledge throughout an organization. Knowledge resources exist in the people, processes, and technology of organizations and are often lost as individuals depart. Capturing these resources into a formal and reusable construct allows organizations to focus on growth and innovation through sharing and applying of knowledge while remembering and documenting lessons learned creating an organizational memory.

Learning Outcomes:
1. Explain the role of technology, its use as a resource tool in organizations and society, social media, data mining/security
2. Apply knowledge gained in program to make sense of the amount of data available, systematically problem-solve and be able to propose creative/design-thinking solutions
3. Develop tasks and work processes for desired organizational outcomes, ability to work face-to-face or virtually, and to critically and ethically analyze big data
4. Evaluate the organizational leadership of knowledge management curation and transfer in a local and global workforce

KNM 301: Introduction to Knowledge Management
KNM 310: Knowledge Capture and Codification
KNM 311: Safeguarding Knowledge Management Codified Data
KNM 401: Professional Issues in Knowledge Management
KNM 402: Strategy and Planning
KNM 403: Process Continuity and Future Planning

Qualifications

PhD (preferred) or Master’s Degree (required). Significant experience in the field.

Job Specific Qualifications

Candidates must have significant teaching and/or professional experience in this field. Additional qualifications include:
• Online teaching experience
• Instructional design experience preferred
• Ability to be self-directed with broadly-defined guidelines
• Demonstrated ability to interact effectively and efficiently with diverse people in a multidisciplinary environment
• Interest in learning to use new technological tools to engage students in a virtual classroom environment

Responsibilities

For each online section:
• Conduct live discussions weekly incorporating group work, case studies or other online pedagogy tools, incorporating material covered asynchronously, as well as student questions, items in the news that apply to course concepts, and other external sources or guests relevant to course content, etc.
• View asynchronous content and student work and inquiries in advance of weekly live sessions
• Grade assignments and exams quickly and provide relevant feedback to students;
• Maintain regularly scheduled virtual office hours
• Submit progress reports and final grades according to University regulations
• Participate in instructor meetings quarterly
