Position Title: Airframe and Powerplant Technical Assistant

Salary: $15.00 per hour

Qualifications:

Current FAA A&P certificate, with at least two years of hands on aircraft maintenance experience. One year of experience required if a former graduate of the MVCC A&P program.

Ideal candidate will have three to five years hands on commercial or business aircraft maintenance experience.

Duties:

The MVCC vision for the part time technical position for the MVCC Airframe & Powerplant program is one of personal growth and opportunity. A new hire technical support person can help positively change the lives of students by offering expertise in aviation maintenance through life experience that is not necessarily covered in the text books. The individual will grow to be able to accept teaching assignments in both the credit bearing FAA approved A&P program subjects and also the non-credit A&P prep class training program. This position allows for an individual to hone their skills in many different aviation maintenance training subject areas.

As a technical assistant in the A&P program, you will assist A&P students with hands on lab projects at the work bench level and on live school aircraft. Set up and provide the required tooling and supplies needed as per the full time faculty staff member(s) needs for teaching. Other duties will include aircraft hangar housekeeping, and equipment maintenance upkeep as necessary.

Some travel will be required for recruiting activities for the A&P program. These include airshows, high school career days, and other special events as they come up.
