The Center for Health and Homeland Security (CHHS) at the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law is now accepting applications for Law & Policy Analysts or Senior Law & Policy Analysts (full-time non-tenure track academic positions with payroll titles of Research Fellow, Research Assistant, or Research Associate). Candidates may report to one of the CHHS main offices in Baltimore, MD or Rockville, MD; or onsite with a local or state emergency management agency or health department in a Maryland jurisdiction including Montgomery, Prince George, Frederick, Charles, Baltimore City, and Howard county.

Essential Duties

CHHS works with state and local emergency management agencies, health departments, departments of transportation, and departments of public works on emergency preparedness and public health preparedness, response, and recovery. We also work with educational institutions, hospitals, and private business on emergency planning, training, and exercise activities. CHHS also produces legal handbooks and bench books to be used by government employees and judges during declarations of emergency.

Qualifications :

Qualifications:
  • JD degree required; will consider applicants within final semester
  • Emergency management or public health experience preferred

This is a full-time grant funded salaried position.

Salary: Salary and rank are commensurate with experience, plus full benefits package including paid leave and health insurance.
