Under limited supervision, provides nursing services to students in the University community.
Essential Duties Summary
Observes and screens patients, monitors vital signs, administers medications, collects lab samples and reports patient’s condition to physician. Refers patients to physician and schedules appointments as appropriate. Assists with front office duties: greeting and directing patients and visitors, assisting students with checking in, answering phones, assisting with records management. Assists the physician/nurse practitioner in providing for specific health care needs of students. Prepares patient and necessary equipment for examinations, and assists physician as necessary. Renders first aid and assists in emergency situations. Informs the Director of Health of problems and emergencies. Conducts and participates in health care seminars and health fairs on University campus to educate the University population about basic health care. Consults with students to discuss health problems. Cleans and maintains equipment and exam/treatment rooms and restocks supplies and medications. Establishes and maintains departmental files according to University policies, practices and procedures and HIPAA / FERPA regulations. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Some college or Associate Degree (A.A.) and/or vocational or technical school and/or specialized training or certification.

Requires one to three years of related experience. Requires a working knowledge of standard practices and procedures.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Work is performed within clinic environment with minimal exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. Physical demands are usually limited to sitting or standing in one location much of the time. Some stooping, lifting or carrying objects of light weight may be required.
