Objective
The Adult Education & Literacy ( AEL ) Recruiter/Follow-Up Specialist is responsible for providing information about HSE and/or ESL classes in Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Leon, Robertson, and Washington counties. The Recruiter/Follow-Up Specialist will also meet with any group, organization, church, or company to inform these entities about adult education in the aforementioned counties. The AEL Recruiter/Follow-Up Specialist will also make phone calls to students who are not meeting attendance expectations. .

Principal Accountabilities
1. Presenting to organizations, groups, and/or individuals interested in pursuing their goal of attain a high school equivalency or improving their speaking and writing skills in English.
2. Liaison with community groups, business, schools, churches, etc. regarding adult education.
3. Make follow-up phone calls and emails to students not meeting attendance requirements.
4. Perform other duties as assigned.

2. Develop and manage relationships with community leaders, local government, and non-profit organizations to promote referral of prospective students.
3. Schedule presentations to provide information to schools, churches, community groups, and businesses.

1. Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
2 Honoring Blinn’s and the Texas Adult Education and Literacy policies and regulatory requirements.
3. Ability to gather, collect data and build Excel reports
4. Computer Literacy (knowledge of Microsoft Office/ TEAMS )
5. Ability to facilitate Online/Remote instruction via. (Zoom) or (E-campus)
6. Being receptive to feedback, willing to learn, and embracing continuous improvement.
7. Willing to work mornings, afternoon, or evening shifts.

Bachelor’s Degree
1. Experience working with Adults seeking their high school equivalency ( HSE ) or English As a Second Language.. ( ESL )
2. Experience administering the TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education) or CASAS (Comprehensive Assessment)
3. Ability to network and develop positive relationships with community partners.
4. The ability to effectively communicate with students and connect them with services that will help them reach their personal, educational, and career goals.
