Instructional Assistant Professor of Spanish - The Croft Institute for International Studies at the
The Department of Modern Languages [http://modernlanguages.olemiss.edu] and the Croft Institute for International Studies [http://croft.olemiss.edu] at the University of Mississippi invite applications for a Croft Instructional Assistant Professor of Spanish with an open specialization.
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Spanish or a related field (e.g., Hispanic literatures, cultural studies, linguistics, or second language pedagogy) at the time of appointment. Required qualifications include native or near-native fluency in English and Spanish (ACTFL Superior or CEFR C2), familiarity with ACTFL standards, excellence in teaching, and service. As part of an initiative to build an oral proficiency-focused curriculum, duties include the following: Mentoring and teaching classes to help Croft students of Spanish to achieve advanced or superior levels of oral proficiency; teaching upper-level classes in Spanish language, Hispanic cultures, linguistics, or literature; and performing service to the Department of Modern Languages and Croft Institute.
We seek a permanent IAP starting in August 2019 whose contract will be renewed annually based on successful performance.
