The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Southeastern Louisiana University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Spanish (tenure track), beginning Fall 2019. We are looking for a strong generalist, able to teach language at all levels, plus upper level literature and culture classes within the departmental Major program.  Required qualifications:  Ph.D. degree in Spanish, Spanish education, or equivalent by date of appointment, demonstrated excellence in college teaching, and native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English. Besides maintaining  an active and productive research agenda in the discipline, the ideal candidate will engage in service at the Department, College and University levels. Familiarity with creating and administering on-line courses and experience in curriculum design will be particularly considered. Qualification to teach another of the languages offered by the Department (i.e. 18 hours of graduate studies in the discipline)  will be a plus.   "Southeastern Louisiana University is a progressive and comprehensive university that enrolls approximately 15,000 graduate and undergraduate students.
