Assistant Professor of Religious Studies
The Department of Philosophy and Religious Studies invites
applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of
Religious Studies with specialization in Christianity. Expertise
desired in African/African-American religions and/or religion in
public life. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate
courses in World Religions, Christianity, Religious Studies Theory,
Religion in Public Life, and topics related to their research
expertise and/or department needs. The successful candidate will
contribute to the development of a new Religious Studies major and
will promote growth in the Religious Studies minor, African
Diaspora Studies minor and support the Charles Joyner Institute for
Gullah and African Diaspora Studies. The position consists of a 4/3
teaching load with an opportunity for a reduced course load of 3/3.
Applicants must have a Ph.D. in the field of Religious Studies or
related field. ABD will be considered with the expectation the
candidate will have degree in hand by August 2019.
