Brill Professorship in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies

The Department of Women's, Gender and Sexuality Studies at The Pennsylvania State University is hiring to fill the Brill Professorship in Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. We invite applications from senior feminist scholars working at the intersection of gender and health, broadly defined. We strongly encourage applicants whose research focuses on global health and bioethics, through a feminist lens. The Brill Professorship is open to an interdisciplinary scholar in the humanities or social sciences, at the full or advanced associate professor rank. Ongoing publication in leading national and international outlets, leadership and recognition in one's field, and a public-facing presence, are expected. This hire is part of an initiative to complement departmental strengths in gender and health studies, feminist bioethics, critical race studies and critical sexuality studies. The department's emphasis on health is part of a university-wide initiative in this area. This position offers opportunities for collaboration with the Penn State College of Medicine, located at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center (Hershey, PA); and with on-campus scholars at The Huck Institutes of the Life Sciences, The Center for Global Studies, The Bioethics Program at The Rock Ethics Institute, The Sustainability Institute, and other important non-departmental units.
