Full time, non-tenure track Assistant Professor appointment in Theater, Acting
Salary is commensurate with qualifications and experience.
RESPONSIBILITIES: This is a full-time Acting appointment. The position entails teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, particularly in the areas of acting, Shakespeare, and General Theater Education; expected to mentor and advise acting students; maintain a visible and active profile of creative research and cultivate relationships with professional companies; and engage in appropriate service to the College, the University, and the profession.
QUALIFICATIONS: Candidates must demonstrate a pedagogical and professional profile. An MFA degree in Acting and professional experience is expected. Candidates must have outstanding professional credits in performance and a strong commitment to teaching, training, and working in a university environment.

The School of Theater, Film and Media Arts is part of the Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts at Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, located in close proximity to the City’s historic cultural institutions, including the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts, The Walnut Street Theatre, Opera Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Ballet, Philadelphia Theatre Company and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. The Center for the Performing and Cinematic Arts is part of a thriving arts community that provides myriad opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration among students, faculty and cultural partners. The Center is located on the University’s main campus in the culturally rich and diverse city of Philadelphia. Fall 2016 Theater enrollment included 280 students-260 undergraduate and 20 graduate students in Acting, Design, Directing and Playwriting. The Theater Department is served by 18 full-time faculty and 15 affiliate faculty. The Department offers BA, BFA, MA, and MFA degrees.
