The Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies at Simon Fraser University invites applications for a tenure-track position in Global Transgender Health at the rank of Assistant Professor commencing July 1, 2019.

The preferred candidate will have a PhD in hand by the appointment start date. They will be engaged in interdisciplinary research on trans (broadly defined across diverse cultures) health and/or medicine from a global perspective, and will have a research profile which sits at the intersection of the social sciences and humanities. In addition to a demonstrated publication record in global trans health research, candidates should also show effective teaching and the ability to work effectively within transnational and intersectional frameworks in their undergraduate and graduate teaching in gender, sexuality, and women’s studies. They should also suggest ways that they can participate in service to the department, the university, and the broader community.

Applicants will electronically submit a cover letter, a curriculum vitae, a teaching portfolio (including a statement of teaching philosophy and selection of course evaluations), a resume of research interests and agenda, and a sample of written work.
