Clinical Psychologist - Clinical Assistant/Associate Professor (43582)
The University of Florida Center for AIDS/HIV Research, Education and Service (UFCARES) at the University of Florida, College of Medicine - Jacksonville, is announcing the availability of a full-time faculty position for a Licensed Clinical Psychologist (#00019699). The Clinical Psychologist will provide comprehensive psychological services to individuals with HIV/AIDS who are patients of UF CARES, a multidisciplinary center for patient care and research within the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology, Department of Pediatrics, University of Florida College of Medicine, Jacksonville. UF CARES is an ACHA approved community mental health provider.
This appointment will be at the non-tenure accruing level of Assistant/Associate Professor. Major responsibilities will include providing and coordinating psychological services to adolescent and children; program development; and developmental and psychological testing as part of an NIH funded research study. Duties also include providing individual, group and family therapy and facilitating and supervising support group activities. Testing children is a major part of the position. Opportunities exist for additional research and educational activities. Program currently has several part-time mental health providers including, Masters level psychometrician, psychiatrist and doctor prepared psychiatric nurse practitioner. Applicants should possess a doctoral degree in clinical psychology with expertise in adolescent, pediatric or health psychology. Candidates must have completed an APA-accredited internship and have experience working in a medical setting. A strong background as a consultation liaison and experience working with chronic illness and high-risk and underserved populations is preferred.
