The Department of English seeks to appoint a tenure-track professor in Poetry. The successful candidate will have a strong doctoral record and should show promise of excellence in scholarship. That candidate would also be able to teach and publish in multiple historical periods and across national boundaries, and show a broad grasp of the field. The appointment is expected to begin on July 1, 2019. The tenure-track professor will be responsible for teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels. They will also be expected to contribute to the intellectual life of the Faculty and University by pursing a full program of scholarly research and course development, advising undergraduate and graduate students, overseeing independent research projects, and engaging in an appropriate amount of service. Doctorate or terminal degree in English literature or related discipline required by the time the appointment begins. Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching is desired.
