The Department of Radiology at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville seeks a full-time fellowship-trained Director of Cardiothoracic Imaging and Section Chief with proven academic focus at UF Jacksonville Health System with 100% Cardiothoracic Imaging, under new leadership with a new vision. This is a non-tenure accruing position at the rank of Chief, Assistant, Associate Professor. Major responsibilities include:

  • Provide state of the art Cardiothoracic Imaging, working closely with the chair and leadership. Participate in research with academic productivity.
  • Energize and educate Cardiothoracic Imagers and team, in best practices, establish and maintain system wide, high-quality Cardiothoracic care and service. Work with colleagues in Cardiothoracic surgery, oncology, radiation oncology & pathology, via daily interactions/multidisciplinary meetings.
  • Establish metrics and provide data-driven feedback to the team and strategies for improvement and development based on performance metrics.
  • Work with sectional members to update resident and fellow teaching in Cardiothoracic Imaging.
  • Work towards developing a Cardiothoracic Imaging fellowship program for in the future.


There are currently more than 300,000 diagnostic exams performed annually throughout our system. The Cardiothoracic Imaging program encompasses all facets of MRI, CT, US, Plain films and procedures, with a good case mix. MRI equipment is almost all Siemens. Candidates must be Board Certified / Board Eligible in Diagnostic Radiology. The successful candidate will be fellowship trained in Cardiothoracic Imaging and experienced in all aspects of imaging and intervention. Candidates must be able to obtain a license to practice medicine in the state of Florida and meet the qualifications for a full time faculty position at the University of Florida. Academic scholarship with national and international reputation is a pre-requisite for this position. Leadership experience is required, and the candidate must also have shown a significant commitment to teaching and to providing high-quality care and service in Cardiothoracic Imaging. A non-clinical day each week will be provided for administrative, academic, and research activities.
