Blackburn College, a private liberal-arts college with a student-managed work program located in Carlinville, Illinois, invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Professor of English, with primary teaching duties in First Year Writing. Required qualifications include a Ph.D. in Composition/Rhetoric or English, demonstrated excellence in teaching, and at least two years of experience teaching First-Year Writing. Additional courses may be taught in literature, creative writing, and/or gender and women’s studies depending on candidate’s expertise. Experience working in peer-tutor writing centers strongly preferred, as is interest in joining a campus community that promotes diversity, respect, and inclusion.
