Position Summary
The Department of Sociology and Criminology invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position with specialties in migration, sociology of culture, or environmental sociology to begin in August 2019. There is a preference for candidates who take a comparative approach and whose work aligns with the department's focus on inequality.

Duties and Responsibilities
The department is committed to an undergraduate teacher/scholar model and applicants should show a strong commitment to academic research and teaching. The successful candidate’s primary teaching responsibility will be in the sociology program, consisting of 5 undergraduate courses per academic year (3/2 load). Pre-tenure faculty members receive a semester-long sabbatical after a positive third-year review.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should have a Ph.D. in sociology by the time of appointment.
