Georgetown University, through its Qatar campus, and the Josoor Institute collaborate on numerous educational programs. The Director of Education will provide academic and administrative leadership and services to the Josoor Institute, including working with Josoor staff on outreach, marketing, enrollment management, program operations, student advising and coordinating academic delivery. In addition, the Director of Education will work with partner academic institutions and faculty and coordinate a rigorous course of study in the certificate and diploma programs, including the coordination of development and delivery of course content. The Director will work with Josoor staff, its partner institution faculty, and the Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies and the McDonough School of Business (MSB) to develop new and revise existing on-ground and online curricula and course materials.

 

Duties:

  • Work closely with the School of Continuing Studies to ensure the development and implementation of course content, faculty oversight and student engagement at the workshop, certificate and diploma levels;
  • Interface with the Josoor Institute staff on marketing, partnership outreach and enrollment management; assist main campus partners with the development of new business at the custom program and degree levels
  • Ensure effective collaboration between Josoor, the School of Continuing Studies, and other Schools, as it relates to the development of new and /or revision of existing on-ground and online curricula and course materials;
  • Develop with the faculty and produce course schedules for implementation and dissemination;
  • Provide student feedback, including answering student and applicant questions
  • Hire and supervise Subject Matter Experts for projects on an as needed basis;
  • Revise and update curriculum materials;
  • Identify new program opportunities for main campus partners.
  • Teach where applicable;
  • Other duties as assigned.
 

Qualifications:

  • Masters degree in Higher Education, MBA or other equivalent;
  • 7+ year’s relevant work experience;
  • Experience in academic administration, creation, design and delivery of professional and executive education programs at the certificate, diploma and degree levels, including online offerings.
  • Experience in program partnership outreach, marketing and enrollment management strategies to increase student enrollments;
  • Experience in the online synchronous and asynchronous formats and in experiential group learning environments;
  • Knowledge of the Middle East / GCC region.
  • Experience working with Learning Management Systems such as Blackboard or Canvass.
  • Extensive working knowledge of MS Office suite of programs.
  • Ability to create reports in Microsoft Excel and other relevant software.
  • Teaching experience in the sports industry management a plus.

  • Advantageous to have worked in Middle East or another rapidly developing region (Arabic an advantage).
  • Knowledge of Georgetown University helpful.
