The Department of History, Sociology, Geography and Legal Studies in the College of Social Sciences, Mathematics and Education at The University of Tampa invites applications for a full-time, non-tenure track, renewable position as an Assistant Professor of History beginning in August 2018.
The University of Tampa is a medium-sized, comprehensive, residentially-based private institution of 8,913 undergraduate and graduate students. The University is ideally situated on a beautiful 110-acre campus next to the Hillsborough River, adjacent to Tampa's dynamic central business district, which is a growing, vibrant, diverse metropolitan area. UT reflects this vibrancy; with 20 consecutive years of enrollment growth UT boasts 229 student organizations, a multicultural student body from 50 states and 140 countries, and "Top Tier" ranking in U.S. News & World Report.
The successful candidate will teach four 4-credit courses each semester. At least three of these classes each semester will be sections of HIS 103 World History Since 1500. Demonstrated success in teaching courses on the Holocaust and Twentieth-Century Europe is also required.
Review of candidates will commence immediately and continue until the position is filled.
Candidates must have earned a Ph.D. in History by the time of appointment in August 2018.
