Clinical Ast/Aso Professor - GYN Pathology (60292)
The Department of Pathology, Immunology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Florida, College of Medicine invites applications for an Academic Gyn Pathologist with the expectation of being our Unit Director for Gynecologic Pathology. Perinatal pathology expertise is desirable. Candidates must have successfully completed a Gynecologic Pathology or Women's Health fellowship and possess excellent diagnostic and communication skills. There is opportunity for participation in other surgical pathology subspecialty units as desired by the applicant.
Primary responsibilities will involve service and clinical teaching to residents/fellows in Surgical Pathology as well as close collaboration with our Gyn-Onc Multidisciplinary Team. The University of Florida and UF Health Shands affiliated institutions present a rich diversity of inpatient and outpatient clinical material. The successful applicant will contribute to medical student, resident and fellowship training (1 Surgical Pathology Fellow trained every year) in accredited programs within Pathology.
Our department accessions approximately 3000 GYN cases (Gyn biopsies-resections and Consults) and 850 placentas annually.
Academic appointment and salary commensurate with experience.
Minimum Requirements: Candidates must have an MD/DO or MD/DO-PhD, or equivalent, be board certified in Anatomic Pathology and have completed at fellowship in Gynecologic Pathology or Women's Health and possess or be eligible for a Florida Medical license.
Qualifications: A track record of publication and clinical research activity is encouraged. Proficiency in Intraoperatory consultations is needed (Neuropathology and Bone/Soft tissue tumors intraoperative consultations are not covered by surgical pathologists)
Preferred Qualifications: Previous practice experience is preferred, but not required. All qualified applicants will be considered. Experience in other areas of surgical pathology is desirable, but not required.
