The Systems Functional Analyst is responsible for the day-to-day operations of Ellucian/Banner-Financial Aid and other IT related IT systems within Financial Aid. In addition, this position is charged with providing analysis of future system business needs, effectively developing and executing a plan to implement system enhancements, performing quality control measures to address system compliance and ensuring data integrity. The System Functional Analyst is also responsible for developing queries (using Ellucian/Banner rules, SQL, and PL/ SQL ), providing system data and related reports as well as conducting job-related research and maintaining web presence and content. Also responsible for maintaining financial aid website, text and email alert functions, and scheduling software.

Essential Duties Summary

Work collaboratively with the financial aid staff, IT staff other department to maintain the financial aid processed in the Ellucian/Banner system. Responsible for the design, coding, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of software and reports. Keep abreast of all pertinent Ellucian/Banner and related IT system updates, as well as federal and state aid regulatory changes to ensure compliance and business efficiency. Work collaboratively with TSU web master to review, update, upload and manage web content. Work collaboratively with FA administrators to provide training to staff and university department for FA modules. Evaluate, update and maintain security profiles for FA modules in collaboration with Director and Ellucian. Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Must have the ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Ability to use “Banner” student database also preferred. Knowledge of SPL or PL/ SQL, experience testing programs (e.g. system updates), problem solving experience, attention to detail, defining scope of projects and meeting targets. Must have highly effective communication skills, excellent organizational skills, demonstrated self-starter with initiative and ability to work under pressure.

Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements.
