Successful candidate is expected to participate in the following areas:
1. Scholarly activities, teaching and service at a level necessary to support the School’s mission and help maintain AACSB accreditation.
2. Governance of the School and the University, and serving on appropriate committees responsible for academic policymaking and/or other decisions.
3. Non-class activities benefitting students such as directing an extracurricular activity, and providing academic and career advising.
Essential Duties Summary
Teaches undergraduate and graduate accounting courses with emphasis in auditing or AIS . Uses appropriate teaching methods to enhance student learning and carries out assessments of the student learning goals. Carries out research and produces refereed publications, or other outputs in line with personal objectives and School’s research requirements. Contributes to the development, planning and implementation of a high quality curriculum. Carries out student-related activities such as directing an extracurricular activity, and providing academic and career advising. Contributes to departmental, faculty, or JHJ -wide working groups or committees as requested. Carries out any other duties commensurate with the purpose of the department of accounting and the School of Business.

Hiring Range Commensurate with experience. Education
Must possess a Ph.D. in Accounting from an AACSB accredited institution and qualify for a tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor in the School of Business. ABDs in advanced dissertation stage may be considered.
Required Licensing/Certification
Professional certification and experience are desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent interpersonal skills. Must have the ability to work with a diverse student population. Must have the ability to use personal computers and Microsoft Office software.
Work Experience
Beginning Assistant Professor candidates should have outstanding research potential and more advanced candidates should have excellent publication records in relevant leading journals. Should also possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Requires a working knowledge of various computer software i.e., Word Processing, Excel and PowerPoint.
Working/Environmental Conditions
Work is normally performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any hazardous or unpleasant elements. Position requires light physical activity (i.e. most office jobs).
